Since 1976, Ponderosa Bible Camp has built a strong reputation as a Christ-centered retreat destination. As an affiliate of Children's Bible Ministries, we are a non-denominational ministry dedicated to serving children and teens.

Nestled atop Lookout Mountain in Mentone, AL, our camp sits along the scenic Little River, providing a beautiful and serene environment for your group.

Ponderosa Bible Camp is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry, committed to sharing the love of Christ.

The original Camp Ponderosa was built in the mid-1960s using rustic western cedar lumber by two psychology professors from the University of Alabama.

In 1976, Miss Bess Robertson discovered the property for sale, and CBM Ministries of North Alabama purchased the 80-acre camp. At the time, it included six cabins, a dining hall with a kitchen, two small guest cabins, and a craft room.

Mr. Glenn Miller became the camp’s first director, serving faithfully from 1976 to 1999. One of the first campers in 1976, Jeff Nelson, later stepped into the role of director in 1999, continuing the camp’s legacy of ministry.
